‘’Eating Disorders may manifest from problems with the care and feeding of the body, but in many cases it is about fundamental problems with the care and feeding of the Soul!’’
Disordered Eating can come in the form of any behaviour with food that does not serve you… Emotional Eating, Binge Eating, Yo-Yo Dieting, Anorexia, Bulimia, etc… Some of you may already be familiar with my work as I was the Director and Founder of the Eating Disorder Resource Centre of Ireland.
I endeavour to provide creative solutions, resources, insights and fresh perspectives to address the multifaceted aspects of disordered eating. My supportive approach is grounded in empathy and is tailored to address each individuals specific challenges arising from within.
My philosophy is based on transforming your awareness in order that you may release and dissolve the blocks, barriers and limitations that are maintaining your current patterns with food body and weight. It is only when something else is put in place that you will then be able to let your disordered eating go!
We do not repeat patterns because they are good or bad, but because of our attachment to the behaviour. This attachment is based on certain needs which are being met by our behaviour.
It is only when we address these aspects do we get to the source of what is really going on. Targeting the behaviour is not necessarily the best way forward, however expanding your awareness can result in a shift which transforms how you relate to yourself.
My approach embodies the fact that the body is a physical reflection of the various issues that you may or may not be aware of, and by addressing the symptom (the body), this alienates the source. Put simply if you had a plant and the leaves were brown and wilted would you water the leaves or would you water the roots so the leaves could blossom again?
‘’When you get the inside right , the outside falls into place!’’.
